How to install PU stone
PU stone, also known as polyurethane stone, is a new type of decorative material. Here is the installation method for it:
Construction preparation
Materials and tools: Confirm that the model, specifications, color, etc. of the PU stone meet the requirements, and prepare special adhesives, joint fillers, decorative paper, cleaning agents, rulers, level gauges, drills, screwdrivers, cutting machines, and other materials and tools.
Grassroots treatment: The installation surface must be flat, solid, dry, free of oil stains, dust, and loose materials. For uneven walls, it is necessary to polish or fill them to ensure that the flatness error of the base layer does not exceed 5 millimeters.
Measurement and layout
Measurement size: Use a tape measure to measure the installation area in detail, determine the length and height of the wall or other installation surface, and calculate the amount of PU stone used.
Pre layout: Based on the design effect and the size of the PU stone, pre layout is carried out on the ground, observe the overall effect, adjust the connection of patterns and textures, and mark the installation position of each PU stone.
Installation process
Cutting and cutting: According to the actual size and layout requirements of the installation site, use a cutting machine to cut the PU stone. When cutting, pay attention to keeping the incision flat and minimize errors as much as possible.
Apply adhesive: Apply specialized adhesive evenly on the back of PU stone, usually using full adhesion method, with a thickness controlled at around 3-5 millimeters. After the application is completed, let it air dry for a while until the surface of the adhesive is slightly dry and not sticky to the hands before sticking.
Installation on the wall: Apply the PU stone coated with adhesive accurately to the base wall according to the pre arranged position, gently press it to make it fully adhere to the wall. Use a ruler and level to check the flatness and verticality of the PU stone at any time, ensuring that the installation deviation is within the allowable range.
Fixed PU stone: After pressing and fitting, for larger or heavier PU stones, specialized anchors (such as plastic expansion tubes and screws) can be used to assist in fixing and further enhance their stability.
Gap treatment: After the installation of PU stone is completed, use decorative paper to stick it on both sides of the gap to prevent the filling agent from contaminating the surface of PU stone. Then fill the joint filler into the gap, use tools to compact and scrape it flat, making the gap uniform and consistent. After filling the seams, promptly remove the decorative paper.
Cleaning and inspection: Clean the surface of PU stone with cleaning agent and soft cloth to remove residual adhesive, sealant and other stains. Recheck the installation quality of PU stone, including whether the flatness, verticality, gap width, etc. meet the requirements, and promptly repair and adjust the areas with problems.
