SPC floor installation
SPC flooring, also known as Stone Plastic Composite flooring, is a new type of flooring material composed of materials such as stone powder, PVC, and stabilizers. It combines the durability of hard PVC flooring with the aesthetics of solid wood flooring, and has advantages such as waterproofing, wear resistance, easy installation, and environmental friendliness. The following are the installation steps and precautions for SPC flooring:
Preparation before installation
Measurement and Planning: Accurately measure room dimensions, plan the direction of floor installation, and ensure that the installed floor is aesthetically pleasing and neat.
Ground preparation: Ensure that the ground is flat, dry, clean, and free of obvious height differences and protrusions. If necessary, use self leveling cement for ground leveling.
Material preparation: Purchase sufficient quantities of SPC flooring and specialized installation tools such as rubber hammers, cutting knives, measuring tapes, etc.
Adapt to the environment: Place the SPC floor in the installation room for at least 24 hours to adapt to the ambient temperature and humidity, avoiding expansion or contraction after installation.
Installation steps
Laying moisture-proof pads: Lay a layer of moisture-proof pads on the ground to prevent moisture from affecting the performance of SPC flooring.
Starting from one side of the room, lay the first row of SPC flooring, ensuring that there is a 10mm expansion joint between the floor and the wall to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction.
Splicing and fixing: Use the SPC floor's built-in locking system for splicing to ensure that each floor is tightly connected. Gently tap the edge of the floor with a rubber hammer to ensure a secure connection.
Cutting and Adaptation: When encountering obstacles or walls, use a cutting knife to accurately cut the floor, ensuring it matches the size and shape of the room.
Install skirting board: Install skirting board between the floor and wall, which is both beautiful and can cover the expansion joint, preventing dust and debris from entering.
Installation precautions
Avoid direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause deformation or fading of SPC flooring, and measures should be taken to cover it.
Avoid standing water: Although SPC flooring is waterproof, avoid standing water on the floor for a long time to prevent it from seeping under the floor.
Use specialized tools: Use specialized cutting knives and rubber hammers, avoid using metal tools to directly hit the floor, and prevent damage to the surface.
Regular maintenance: Clean SPC flooring regularly, use mild cleaning agents, and avoid using abrasive cleaners and hard brushes.
